The drawing will include a general arrangement showing the layout of all the frames, the secondary steelwork (purlins and cladding rails) and the stability bracing.

The details will also show the foundation loadings, the connection forces and construction notes.

If you have ordered the connection designs then these details will also be shown on the drawing.

We need the following information to design a steel portal frames building:

architectural layouts showing the span, centres and the eaves height of the portal frames and the type of roof cladding

elevations showing the type of cladding (sheeting, brickwork, or a combination of both)

the approximate location of the building (this is needed to assess the wind and snow loadings)

details of any service loadings which will be supported by the steel frame

Design information

All design work is carried out in accordance with BS5950 (The structural use of steelwork).

The drawing can be issued in either AutoCad or pdf formats.
