Most domestic properties have timber staircases. These are light, easily fitted and relatively cheap. However, in reality, without additional support being provided, they are limited to straight flights. Sometimes this does not fit in with the architectural requirements. In Georgian times some very elaborate staircases were made from timber with little obvious means of support, but the techniques they used would be very difficult and expensive to reproduce these days.
A stainless steel staircase is light and open and very flexible in its design. Invariably they are used as an architectural feature and they can be very striking.
We need the following information to design a stainless steel staircase:
architectural layouts or sketch details with dimension of the stairwell area, showing the position of the supporting walls
the floor to floor height(s)
a sketch detail of the type of staircase required
Design information
All designs are carried out in accordance with the SCI (The structural design of stainless steel).
The calculations provided will be suitable for Building Regulation approval.
